SALEM, Ore. – Corban University claimed a 4-0 victory on Saturday afternoon in Cascade Collegiate Conference action at Warrior Field.
Â
The Warriors (7-5, 3-2 CCC) outshot the Beacons 15-9 and held a 6-3 advantage in shots-on-goal. Sheyenne Brusven picked up the shutout win between the pipes, making three saves.
Â
Head Coach
Jessica Cardwell said, "We put in a lot of effort today but we had so many mental errors and breakdowns that we didn't give ourselves a chance. We had a few solid individual performances but this is a team sport and a couple of players can't do it all. I give props to Corban because they capitalized on our mistakes and played a very solid 90 minutes."
Â
The Warriors got on the board three times in the first half. Lexi McQueary scored in the 15th minute, Holly Moorman scored in the 26th and Julie Agarkov added one with just 37 seconds remaining before the intermission.
Â
Then, in the 62nd minute, Moorman struck again for the final goal.
Â
Mackenzie Galick and
Katie Hastings split time in goal for the Beacons (4-7-1, 1-3-1 CCC) and each recorded one save.
Â
The Beacons will be back in action on Friday, traveling to face Rocky Mountain College at 1 p.m. (MST).Â
