LA GRANDE, Ore. - The Northwest Christian University women's soccer team tied the game in the 73rd minute only to see Eastern Oregon respond with the game winner in the 74th as the Mountaineers won 2-1 in Cascade Collegiate Conference action on Saturday.
EOU (13-2, 8-2 CCC) outshot the Beacons, 21-11 and held NCU to just two shots on goal.
After a scoreless first half, Eastern found the back of the net first as freshman Zoe Anderson scored her 13th goal of the season. In the 13th minute,
Emily Miller took a pass from
Britnee Joaquin (pictured) and found pay-dirt for her team-leading fourth goal of the year.
Just a minute and 23 seconds later, Crystal Schuder responded for the Mounties with an unassisted goal.
The Beacons (2-12-1, 1-8 CCC) will close out the season on the road next weekend, traveling to face Evergreen on Friday and Northwest University on Saturday. Both contests are scheduled for a 2:00 pm kickoff.
