Beacons Fall to Great Falls, 1-0

EUGENE, Ore.  – Despite out-shooting the University of Great Falls 14-9, the Northwest Christian University women's soccer team came up on the short end on Saturday in a 1-0 loss.

NCU controlled the first half, holding a 7-1 advantage in shots as they forced UGF keeper Jocelyn Morris into four saves.

The Argonauts punched in the only score of the game in the 61st minute when Kelsey Reehill collected the rebound off a blocked shot by Jean Escobar and punched home the shot from 15-yards out.

Karli Vath led the Beacons with six shots, including five shots on goal. Brittany McKinley added four shot attempts in the loss. Getting her first career start between the pipes, freshman keeper Amy Clason-Messina picked up four saves in the loss.

Northwest Christian (0-7) will be back in action next Saturday when they play host to The Evergreen State College at 4:00 pm.
