SALEM, Ore. - The NCU women's basketball team fell to Corban University on Friday night, 84-76. The victory helped the Warriors to a share of the CCC Championship, but co-champion Concordia University held the tie-breaker to claim the #1 seed in the upcoming conference tournament.
The Beacons, the #8 seed for the tournament, will travel to face Concordia on Tuesday in the first round of the CCC playoffs, set to begin at 7:00 pm.
As for Friday's contest with Corban, the Beacons (10-18, 6-12 CCC) were led by
Sheena Alexander, scoring 22 points, along with four steals.
Lori Renner added 12 points and
Hope Williams once again went for a double-double, scoring 11 points with ten rebounds.
Lindsey Shearer scored ten points, hitting a trio of three-pointers.
Aly Bruns ended the night with nine points along with a season-high eight assists.
Corban had five players in double-figures, led by 19 from Jennessa Miller, who flirted with a triple-double, adding seven rebounds and seven assists.
