Beacons Hit First Bump on the Road

Box Score

McMINNVILLE, Ore. – The Northwest Christian University women's soccer team dropped their first road game of the season on Wednesday, falling at Linfield College, 5-0. The Beacons were outshot 27-6 in the contest and could not contain the Wildcat attack on defense.

Head Coach Katie Casebeer said, “We came out looking strong, like we were going to have a good night, but they just couldn't hold it together. We knew what we needed to be doing different, we just couldn't execute. It was an off night for everybody.”

Linfield scored early and often, getting back-to-back goals in the 17th and 19th minutes to jump ahead 2-0. They went on to add one more goal before half-time, and then tacked on two more after the intermission.

Ali Foster collected 13 saves in goal for the Beacons, who got three shots on goal from Brittany McKinley and two from Kori Wilgus.

The Beacons (0-1-1) will be back in action on Monday as they return home to face Chapman University at 12:00 pm.
