OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Northwest Christian University women's soccer team picked up a 1-0 victory over The Evergreen State College on Saturday, closing out the 2010 season with a their school-record fifth shutout of the season.

The Beacons scored the game's only goal in the 62st minute when Kara Nelson headed home a corner kick from Donn Almeida (pictured). NCU had a 10-4 edge in shots, taking nine shots on goal while holding the Geoducks to just three. Thus, Northwest Christian keeper Ali Foster recorded three saves, picking up school records for her fifth win and her fifth shutout.

Northwest Christian (5-11-1, 2-8 CCC) ends a season in which they match their record for conference wins and come just one win shy of their season record overall.
