Corban University held their grasp on second place in the Cascade Conference on Saturday, taking a sweep from Northwest Christian, 3-0. The Beacons were outshot 23-7 and had just two shots on goal in the game.
The Warriors got on the board with the eventual game-winner in the 21st minute. Emily Tsugawa's shot was blocked and bounced back to Brittany Bowman, who finished into the lower right corner to make it 1-0. 17 minutes later the same scenario occurred and Corban made it 2-0 when Miranda O'Connor found the rebound from Rileigh Mankin's shot attempt and punched in the empty-netter.
Corban (11-3, 3-2 CCC) took their two-goal lead into the half, but wasted little time putting another insurance score on the board in the second half when Tsugawa beat the keeper off a pass from Audrey Sullivan at the 46:28 mark, making it 3-0.
NCU Keeper
Ali Foster was busy on Saturday, making 11 saves as Corban took 14 shots on goal.
The Beacons (3-8-1, 1-4) will be back in action on Wednesday when they play host to Trinity Lutheran University (Wash.) in a non-conference tilt.
