EUGENE, Ore. – After winning consecutive Cascade Conference games via 1-0 shutouts, the Northwest Christian University women's soccer team was on the other end of a shutout on Friday afternoon, falling to Eastern Oregon University in CCC action, 3-0.
The Mountaineers first got on the board in the 33rd minute when Hailey Bohnet headed in a corner kick from Lauren Robideau. The score remained 1-0 into the intermission as EOU outshot the Beacons 10-2 in the first half.
Eastern added their first insurance goal in the 63rd minute when Bohnet laced a pass across the box to Tennly Paul-Bowden who beat the drawn out keeper for the score. Then with just four minutes remaining in the game, the Mounties capitalized on another corner kick, this time Robideau's kick saled into the goal off the keepers hands for the 3-0 score.
The Beacons (5-9, 2-4 CCC) had just one shot on goal, a free-kick blast from
Megan Taylor to the top shelf that was punched out and over the crossbar by EOU keeper Kalah Minter for her only save of the day.
NCU will be back in action tomorrow, playing their home finale against The College of Idaho at 7:00 pm.
