Jason Corwin leads the Bushnell volleyball program as the Director of Volleyball and Head Coach for the indoor team. He also serves as an assistant with the Beach Volleyball team.

Corwin became the fourth coach in Beacon volleyball history in 2018. In five seasons, he has guided the Beacons to four post-season appearances including back-to-back NAIA National Championship Tournament qualifications in 2020 and 2021.

Corwin has been involved with the program since the summer of 2016, as an assistant coach under Kelly Pitre and as a recruiting coordinator, orchestrating the rosters for some of the most successful teams in school history.

In 2019, Corwin led the Beacons to their first 20-win season, first playoff victory and first trip to the Cascade Collegiate Conference semifinals. He also picked up his 100th collegiate win. Just one year later, Corwin led the Beacons to a third-place finish in the CCC and their first-ever trip to the NAIA National Championship opening round.

In 2021 they repeated their run to the NAIA National Championship opening round after a record-setting 21-win season and their first ever home playoff victory.

Corwin’s experience at the collegiate level includes a five-year stint as the head coach at CCC rival Oregon Tech from 2010-2014. In that time he led the Owls to three Cascade Conference playoff appearances. In his final year he produced a 20-win season, their first since 2008.

Prior to OIT, Corwin had extensive experience at both the club and high school level where his teams excelled. In both 2007 and 2008, Corwin co-coached the 18 Webfoot Gold Juniors club team, earning a third-place finish in the CEVA.

In both 2007 and 2009, Corwin led Thurston High School to Midwestern League championships while adding a second-place finish in 2008. He also led the Colts to three consecutive sixth-place finishes at the Oregon 5A state volleyball tournament and was named Midwestern League Coach of the Year after an undefeated run through league play in 2009.

Prior to taking the reins at Bushnell, Coach Corwin spent two seasons leading the varsity program at Cottage Grove High School where he was named the Sky-Em Coach of the Year in 2016.

Coach Corwin also works as a PE and Health teacher at Lincoln Middle School in Cottage Grove and serves as a head coach for 13-year olds in the NPJ Salem Volleyball Club.

Corwin graduated from Western Oregon University in 1999 with a BA in History, while gaining his Master of Teaching degree from Pacific in 2004. Jason has two children, Jude and Carson.

What his players have said:

Makenna Northern: "Jason is one of the hardest working coaches I have ever met. He took this program from nothing to something in a matter of 4 years. He knows what makes a good volleyball team and program and I had full trust in him the whole time I was at Bushnell. He runs practice in a very cool calm and collected way leading to a positive practice environment. Coach Jason is also a great mentor who I could always count on for advice about volleyball or my future career. Anyone who chooses the Bushnell Volleyball program will be lucky to work with Coach Jason."

Natalie Martin: "Jason is a coach that cares about his players, has great knowledge of technique, and helped us reach new milestones every season. I’m so grateful to have played for a coach that helped me reach my career achievements as a player, and inspired a family aspect within our team."

Payton Jones: "Playing for coach Jason was an amazing experience. He always had confidence in me and my abilities and allowed me to reach my full potential. He encouraged me and he is the reason that the course of Bushnell volleyball has changed. We have broken records and made history, all because of his dedication to this team."
