Coach Mike Nicksic begins his first year as an assistant with the NCU men's basketball team in 2011-12. Nicksic brings an extensive coaching background, including over 45 years at the high school level in Lane County.
Nicksic spent 40 seasons at Churchill High School in Eugene as a JV and varsity head coach. In 2001 he was an assistant coach with the 4A State Champion team. Nicksic also coached baseball and football for the Lancers from the freshman level up during his tenure.
Nicksic played collegiately at the University of Oregon where he was a point guard from 1964-68. He was also a pitcher with the Ducks baseball team.
He earned both his undergraduate and Master of Education degrees from the UO. Nicksic and his wife Marilyn have two children, Cabe and Hildi.
