Jay Mayernik will serve as an assistant coach for the Beacons during the 2018-2019 season.
Mayernik comes back to NCU just 15 months after leading the Beacons to back-to-back Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships in 2016 and 2017.
In 2017, he was named the CCC Player of the Year and went on to become the first Beacon ever to garner NAIA First-Team All-American honors. Starting all 31 games for the Beacons, Mayernik averaged a double-double with 15.7 points and 12.4 rebounds per game.
His rebounding total led the NAIA Division II and was the top-15 among all collegiate men's basketball players. He also set an NCU single-game rebounding record of 23 and was the first Beacon to ever post a 20-point/20-rebound game.
Mayernik graduated from NCU in 2017 with a bachelors degree in business administration.
