EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell volleyball team lost consecutive games for the first time last October, dropping a three-setter to No. 4 College of Idaho on Saturday evening, 25-23, 25-19, 25-12.
 
The Beacons (9-4, 4-2 CCC) threw everything they had at the Yotes, but a strong defensive effort for the visitors kept Bushnell from pulling off the upset. Bushnell hit .140 in the match and were out-dug by CI, 60-44 while College of Idaho (13-0, 6-0) hit .263 and used ten service aces to keep Bushnell at bay.
 
"We had a tough weekend against two really good teams," said Head Coach Jason Corwin. "CI pressured us consistently all night and we had a hard time sustaining our level of play for more than a few points at a time. Plenty of credit to them. We can't dwell on it and we will be working hard to prepare for another tough CCC weekend of volleyball."
 
The Beacons were led on offense once again by Amyah Semau, posting a double-double and hitting .355 as she collected a match-high 14 kills and team-high 12 digs. Taya Blankenship added six kills while Emma Fa'alogo finished with 12 assists and eight digs. Chloe Farr added 11 digs and Carly Hanna earned three blocks.  
 
College of Idaho was led by Kelsy Stanger with ten kills while Abigail Flerchinger added eight. Alexa Wheeler posted eight kills and led all players with four blocks while Shaynee McWilliams collected 34 assists and 12 digs. Avery Lewis posted a match-high 17 digs.
 
UP NEXT: Bushnell will stay at home for another tough test next weekend, beginning on Friday at 6:00 pm as they take on No. 17 Southern Oregon University (12-4, 4-2).
