Yotes Take Two as Beacons Celebrate Seniors

EUGENE, Ore. -  The final home games of the 2026 season came on Saturday with The College of Idaho claiming both ends of the double-header with 9-4 and 7-3 victories.

The Beacons, however, were in high spirits as they paid tribute to their eight seniors between games.

GAME ONE: College of Idaho 9, Bushnell 4

Bushnell had a productive game offensively with 12 hits, but couldn't overcome the potent bats of the Yotes who had 14 hits of their own and took advantage of four Bushnell errors in the field.

Violet Richardson (2-9) took the loss for the Beacons, giving up two earned runs over five innings.

For the Beacons, Makenzie Alexander and Riley Peeler did the most damage, collecting three hits each. Brenna Wilson and Alexander had RBI singles in the second inning while Ashlyn Martin brought home two runs in the bottom of the fifth on a two-run double to right center field. She brought the game to within a 5-4 score, only to have the Yotes go on to score four runs in the seventh to put the game away.

GAME TWO: College of Idaho 7, Bushnell 3

The Yotes again provided a consistent and steady offense, scoring in four different innings.

Bushnell scored three runs on six hits in the game, but managed just one run over the final six innings after back-to-back RBI singles from Sara Martin and Maddy Fullenwider in the bottom of the first. That final run came in the fifth on a single from Peeler, who finished her final home double-header hitting 5-for-7.

Sara Martin (4-14) went two innings in her final home start and Gabby Garza closed the final five innings with one of her best performances of the season, allowing just two earned runs with striking out a pair.

UP NEXT: Bushnell (6-31, 3-18 CCC) will hit the road next weekend, closing out the 2026 season in Canada as they take on the University of British Columbia (23-19, 12-9) beginning Friday at 2:00 pm.
