EUGENE, Ore. - Â After giving Corban softball their first two wins of the season on Friday, the Bushnell Beacons stormed back on Saturday with two convincing victories. The wins snap a seven-game losing streak, and give the Beacons their first double-header sweep of the season.

GAME ONE: Bushnell 8, Corban 5
Â
Bushnell put the first game away early, posting a six-run bottom of the first inning.
Violet Richardson started things off with an RBI double,
Sara Martin and
Shyla Mead had RBI singles, and Bushnell scored multiple unearned runs as the Warriors committed two errors.

In the end, the Beacons collected ten hits, with
Haleigh Wambolt,
Ashlyn Martin and Mead earning two hits apiece.

Richardson (2-4) got the victory in the circle, throwing five innings and allowing three earned runs on eight hits.
Sara Martin earned her first save of the seasons as she went the final two innings, striking out a pair and not allowing a hit.

GAME TWO: Bushnell 10, Corban 0 (5 Innings)

Game two was all Bushnell, as
Sara Martin (3-8) threw a four-hitter, striking out five batters in her first shutout since April 13 of last year against the Warriors.

The Beacon offense added ten more runs on ten more hits, led by a 3-for-3 day for
Maddy Fullenwider (pictured) who collected Bushnell season-high five RBI. Her big blast came in the top of the first inning as she hit a bases-clearing triple and scored on a throwing error for a de facto grand slam, putting the Beacons ahead 5-0. She added RBI singles in the second and third innings as the Beacons pulled away.

Richardson went 2-for-2 in the game, capping of a strong weekend at the plate in which she went 8-for-13 with three doubles and eight RBI.

UP NEXT: The Beacons (5-17, 2-7 CCC) will be on the road next weekend, heading to Ashland to take on the NAIA's No. 1 ranked Southern Oregon University (21-9, 4-5).
