CCC Players of the Week
CORVALLIS, Ore. – After a history-making weekend at the plate, Senior
Dylan Carson was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference McDonalds Baseball Player of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, as announced by the CCC office on Monday.
Â
Carson had an absolutely dominant day at the plate on Saturday, leading the Beacons as they swept Warner Pacific University in a pair of seven-inning run-rule wins, 21-1 and 16-3.
Â
Carson went 8-for-9 at the plate on the day, beginning with a 5-for-5 effort in game one. He hit four home runs, earned nine RBI and collected 17 total bases, all setting new Bushnell records. He also became the first Cascade Collegiate Conference player ever to hit four homers in a game, breaking the previous record of three, which was established in 1999 and tied five other times.
Â
Following that effort was a 3-for-4 day in game two, including his fifth home run on the day and three more RBI.
Â
Carson currently leads the NAIA with nine home runs on the season, and ranks fourth with 26 RBI. This is his first CCC Player of the Week award and the third collected by the Beacons this season. He joins Player of the Week
Chase Nye and Pitcher of the Week
Austin Wolfe who were both selected earlier this month.
