CORVALLIS, Ore. – Junior
Austin Wolfe was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference McDonalds Baseball Pitcher of the Week as Presented by Urban Edge Network, announced by the CCC office on Monday.
Â
Wolfe had an incredible outing on Friday, getting the victory as the Beacons defeated Saint Martin's University, 9-1. The lefty went seven innings, striking out nine batters and allowing just one hit, a harmless single in the seventh inning. He pitched to just three batters over the minimum possible, and improved to 2-1 on the season.
Â
Wolfe is the first CCC Player of the Week for Bushnell Baseball this season. He becomes the fifth different Beacon pitcher to earn the award all-time.
Â
UP NEXT: The Beacons (7-6) will continue a 12-game homestand next weekend as they open up Cascade Collegiate Conference action against Warner Pacific University (2-3). The teams will play back-to-back double-headers on Friday and Saturday with the first three games counting toward the CCC slate. The first pitch is scheduled for 2:00 pm on Friday.
