LA GRANDE, Ore. – Redshirt sophomore
Kaleb Burnett hit over half of Bushnell's field goals on Saturday night, but it wouldn't be enough to push the Beacons past conference-leading Eastern Oregon University as they fell to the Mounties, 95-67.
Â
Bushnell (8-9, 5-5 CCC) shot under 40% in the contest and couldn't counter the 54% shooting of Eastern Oregon (13-5, 8-2) as the Mounties hit 14 three-pointers in the game.
Â
Burnett finished with a game-high 27 points, shooting 12-for-19 from the field, adding five rebounds.
Squeeky Johnson,
Isaiah Wallace, and
Keenan Reckamp added nine points apiece while
Rylan Donovan posted a game-high eight rebounds.
Â
Five players finished in double-figures for EOU, led off the bench by James Bodily who shot 7-for-8 from the field and 4-of-5 from three-point land for 20 points in just 13 minutes of action. Cole Hammack was 5-for-6 from deep, scoring 15 points off the bench as the EOU reserves out-scoring their Beacon counterparts, 46-25.
Â
UP NEXT: After a tough 0-2 road trip, the Beacons will look to rebound quickly as they take on Willamette Valley rival Corban University on Tuesday at 7:30 pm.
