KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The Bushnell women's basketball team was within striking distance of a huge NAIA top-25 upset on Saturday afternoon, leading late against No. 23 Oregon Tech before the Owls slammed the door shut on a 79-69 victory.

Tied at 40-40 after two quarters, the Owls gave themselves a six-point margin in the third, only to see the Beacons storm back over the final frame. Opening the fourth quarter on a 12-4 run, the Beacons claimed a two-point lead, 65-63 on a three-pointer from
Kyra Quinn with 6:22 remaining. Oregon Tech proceeded to mount a 16-4 run to close out the game.

In all, the scored was tied ten times throughout the course of 40 minutes and the teams traded leads eleven times. The Beacons shot 34% in the game, a marked improvement over Friday's effort against No. 4 Southern Oregon, and hit seven three-pointers.

Bushnell (9-15, 8-10 CCC) was led by another incredible performance from Center
Libby Mathis (pictured) as the senior scored a double-double with 20 points and a game-high 14 rebounds, whilst matching her career-high with five blocks.

Oregon Tech (19-4, 15-2) had four players in double-figures, led by 24 points and ten boards from Tatum Scherbach and a 13-point, ten-rebound performance out of Alexis Elquist.

Bushnell, who remains tied for sixth in the CCC with Corban, will be in Washington next weekend and will face Evergreen State on Friday at 5:30 pm.
