CCC Players of the Week
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Sophomore
Jermaine Schexnayder has been named the Cascade Conference Indoor Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the CCC offices on Monday.
Â
Schexnayder set a pair of school records over the weekend in the high jump and triple jump, and also hit the NAIA qualifying standard for the Triple Jump, booking his return trip to the NAIA Indoor National Championships.
Â
In an NCAA Division I heavy field, Schexnayder was the top non-DI finisher in both events. In the Triple Jump, he took eighth-place and landed a 14.52 meter (47' 7.75") leap, besting the NAIA "B" standard by just over five inches.
Â
He took fifth-place in the high jump and was once again the top non-DI jumper at 1.89m (6' 2.25").
Â
This is Bushnell's first-ever conference winner during the Indoor Track & Field season. It is Schexnayder's second after earning one Field Athlete of the Week during the outdoor season last April.
Â
The Beacons Indoor Track & Field teams are scheduled to be back in action next weekend in Reno, Nevada at the University of Nevada's Wolfpack Classic.
