PORTLAND, Ore. – The Bushnell women's basketball team is still on the hunt for their first Cascade Conference victory of the season after falling to Warner Pacific on Saturday afternoon, 64-60.
Bushnell (1-8, 0-2 CCC) saw an eight-point halftime lead fall by the wayside as they were out-scored 27-11 in the third quarter with Warner Pacific catching fire from three-point range, hitting 7-for-9 to put the game on their shoulders.
After trailing by as many as 12 points with under seven minutes to play, the Beacons charged late to climb within two, 58-56 with 1:45 remaining. WPU, however, held on late for the victory.
Ayden Krupke put the finishing touches on the most prolific week of scoring in Bushnell history, posting 29 in the loss as she hit four three-pointers. Four night removed from an historic 36-point performance against Corban, the senior closed out the best two-game stretch in school history as she scored 65 points.
Kenzie Pedersen followed with seven points for the Beacons while
Maddie Gerhart came off the bench to score six points and a team-high six rebounds.
Warner Pacific (4-4, 1-1) had four players in double figures, led by 19 from Brylen Gumke who hit five three-pointers.
