EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell Volleyball team now knows what lies in front of them as they prepare for pool play at the NAIA National Championship Final Site from December 3-5.
Â
Bushnell is the No. 18-seed in the tournament and has been slotted to take on No. 7-seed Bellevue (27-4) and No. 10-seed Oklahoma Wesleyan (26-3), whom they will face for the second time this season.
Â
Bellevue, ranked No. 6 in the latest NAIA Coaches Poll, defeated Northwest University, 3-1 in the Opening Round on Saturday. They will face off with the Beacons on December 3 at 7:30 pm Central Time.
Â
Then, on December 4 at 7:30 pm Central Time, Bushnell takes on Oklahoma Wesleyan, ranked No. 9 in the NAIA Coaches Poll. The Eagles defeated Nelson University in five sets on Saturday. They also defeated Bushnell in Eugene back on August 29 in straight sets. The Beacons were not at full strength that day, playing without three members of the regular rotation including a pair that went on to earn All-Cascade Conference honors.
Â
The Beacons are in Pool G. The winner of the pool will play in the quarterfinals against the winner of Pool B, which includes No. 2-seed Northwestern, No. 15-seed Aquinas, and No. 23-seed Lewis-Clark State.
Â
Bushnell is joined by four other Cascade Collegiate Conference schools. None have been slotted in the same pool, setting up the potential for all five to advance to the National Quarterfinals on December 6.
