Beacons Defeated by No. 4 Coyotes

EUGENE, Ore.  – The College of Idaho men's basketball team, ranked No. 4 in the latest NAIA national coaches poll, ran their winning streak to nine games on Friday night with a 79-57 victory over Bushnell.

The Beacons (9-12, 5-10 CCC) were under 30% scoring for the first time this season, hitting just 19-for-69 from the field against one of the best defenses in the NAIA. The Yotes (19-2, 14-1) shot 47%, and built an early lead from which the home team was never able to recover.

Bushnell was led by Cory Johnson, securing a double-double as he posted game-highs with 20 points and 11 rebounds, along with a team-high four assists. Isaiah Wallace came off the bench to score nine points.

The Beacons were out-rebounded 44-43 in the game, but pulled down 18 offensive boards to out-score the Yotes 14-13 in second-chance points.

The College of Idaho had four players in double-figures including the trio of Samaje Morgan, Straton Rogers and Tyler Robinett all scoring 12. Johnny Radford added 11, along with a team-high seven rebounds.
