EUGENE, Ore. – Bushnell responded after a rough first set and kept things tight for the rest of the evening in a three-set loss to Corban University on Tuesday, 25-14, 25-23, 28-26. The Warriors remain undefeated in conference play while the Beacons surrender their first CCC defeat.
Bushnell (7-4, 2-1 CCC) hit .055 in the match with an uncharacteristic 24 attacking errors, including 16 unforced. Nine service aces softened the blow slightly, but the Warriors were able to out-muscle the Beacons at the net with an 8-6 advantage in blocks along with a .242 attack.

Jason Corwin said, "Corban did a good job playing to their strengths tonight. We were uneven in our performance, but showed we are capable of doing more and doing it consistently."
Corban (7-1, 3-0) did a solid job distributing the ball to multiple hitters as setters Abby Guindy and Nadeiah Howard combined for 30 assists and fed five different attackers with double-digit attempts. Jadah Schmidtke and Emma Bishoff emerged with the match-high, posting nine kills apiece while Makayla Roginski, Allyson Reid, and Kendra Bittle added six each.
For Reid, her efforts came without a single attack error and a .545 hitting percentage, adding a match-high six blocks. Marissa Uehara contributed a match-high 15 digs and Bishoff threw in seven digs and three aces.
For Bushnell,
Leah Agost led the way with seven kills while
Hailey Heider added six kills and tied for the team lead with ten digs.
Makenna Mosher added four blocks while
Elijah Sanders led Bushnell with 13 assists and three service aces.
Corban and Bushnell will both hit the road for the southern part of the state this weekend as Bushnell starts off against Oregon Tech on Friday at 6:00 pm followed by No. 5 Southern Oregon. "We need to get better this week," said Corwin, "because both Tech and Southern are playing really good volleyball right now."
