BASEBALL

Bushnell (23-18, 10-6 CCC) plays it second straight weekend at home, hosting Oregon Tech at the Hamlin Sports Complex for Senior Weekend.  
 
CCC OUTLOOK: Lewis-Clark State (27-9, 13-3) sits at the top of the standings, while British Columbia (30-13, 15-5) and Oregon Tech (27-14, 12-4) are tied for second. The Warriors are ranked No. 8 in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll, while the Thunderbirds and Owls are receiving votes.
 
Bushnell (23-18, 10-6) is fourth in the standings with 10 conference wins, while Corban and Eastern Oregon are tied for fifth with four wins in conference action.
 
Bushnell ranks fourth in the CCC in batting with a .292 average. Kyle Casperson leads the Beacons in batting with a .406 average in 21 games, ranking him third in the CCC. Chase Nye is fifth in the conference with a .386 average. The freshman has 18 RBI and has struck out just nine times through 31 games.
 
Jordan Wilson is hitting .318 and ranks among conference leaders in hits (54 – 6th) and home runs (11 – 3rd).
 
The pitching staff holds a combined 5.75 ERA, fourth among CCC schools. Daniel Furman has had a strong senior campaign, recording 26 strikeouts in 27 innings of work with a 3.67 ERA. Trevor Hammond is second in wins with six, while Colby Knutzen leads the conference in saves with six.
 
OREGON TECH: The Owls (27-14, 12-4 CCC) won three of four at Eastern Oregon in their last time out.   
 
OIT is hitting .315 as a team, second in the CCC. The Owls are led by junior third baseman Tyler Horner, who is leading the conference with a .431 batting average and .819 slugging percentage. Horner has recorded 51 RBI and 13 home runs, both top marks in the CCC.
 
The Owls hold a 5.66 ERA as a team, third in the conference. Bronson Chapple holds a conference-leading 3.21 ERA through 11 appearances and a second-best 69 strikeouts. Cody Dubray ranks eighth in the CCC with a 5.09 ERA and 61 strikeouts (4th) through 10 appearances.
 
Oregon Tech holds an 11-5 record in the all-time series with Bushnell.
 
SOFTBALL

Bushnell (11-27, 5-16 CCC) took three of four games from Corban University at home last weekend. The Beacons have now won five of their last eight games and have matched their win total from last season with eight games remaining in the regular season.
 
CCC OUTLOOK: The Cascade Conference continues to be one of the strongest in the NAIA and is home to four Top-25 teams. Oregon Tech is ranked No. 5, followed by No. 11 Eastern Oregon, No. 13 Southern Oregon and No. 20 College of Idaho.
 
With two weekends to play, two playoff spots are still up for grabs and the Beacons have not been eliminated. The four ranks schools are all battling it out for the CCC championship as they are within one game of each other. UBC and Carroll sit around .500 and are in good shape to qualify, but Providence and Bushnell are just four and five games out of the final playoff spot respectively, with six conference games remaining.
 
Bushnell ranks eighth in the CCC in hitting (.233 BA), seventh in pitching (4.09 ERA), and tenth in fielding (.932).  The Beacons are third in the conference with 32 sacrifice bunts and fourth in the CCC with nine sac flies.   
 
Faith Wayman leads Bushnell with a .333 batting average and is fourth in conference with ten doubles.  In the circle, Emily Cole is third for innings pitched (125.1), eighth for strikeouts (75) and 11th with a 3.18 ERA, up two spots from a week ago.
 
Defensively, Hannah Tennant is No. 2 in the CCC with 235 putouts and has not committed an error. She is currently riding a Bushnell-record streak of 453 consecutive errorless chances.
 
EASTERN OREGON: The Mounties will be one of the fiercest competitors the Beacons have faced this season as EOU possibly sits on the cusp of their first CCC championship in 25 years. They have won 13 of their last 14 games and own series victories over both OIT and C of I this season.
 
EOU is fourth in the CCC in hitting, averaging .313. They have the best pitching staff in the conference, boasting a 1.27 ERA which ranks fourth in the NAIA while their 311 strikeouts (9.8 per 7 innings) lead the nation.
 
Kaylie Hoskins (12.2) has dominated every lineup she has faced this season. She leads the NAIA with 13.1 strikeouts per nine innings and her ERA of 0.58 ranks second in the nation. The No. 2 pitcher in the rotation is Kylie Parsons (14-2) who had an ERA of 1.11 which ranks second in the CCC. She has struck out 90 batters in 82.1 innings.
 
Eastern Oregon holds a 46-26 lead in the all-time series with the Beacons, and has won nine straight, sweeping the four-game series in each of the past two seasons.
 
ESPORTS
Wednesday 4/24, Rocket League vs Sacred Heart University 
 
Bushnell is competing in a league run by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). They played six best-of-seven matches in the 43-team Contenders Division, coming away with an undefeated 6-0 record to win their conference.
 
The Beacons are the No. 2 seed in the 24-team postseason. They earned a first-round bye before defeating Kean University, 4-2, in the Round of 16 to advance to the Quarterfinals. They went on to sweep the University of Missouri in the Quarterfinals before defeating Florida International University, 4-1, in the Semifinals.
 
Bushnell will take on Sacred Heart University in the ECAC Contenders Championship on Wednesday at 5:00.
