EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell University women's basketball team got within one midway through the fourth quarter, but the No. 7 Lewis-Clark State College held the Beacons scoreless the rest of the way to take home a 68-61 Cascade Collegiate Conference victory.

With the loss, Bushnell and LC State split the regular season conference series. In the first matchup, taking place in Lewiston, the Beacons took home a 67-56 victory, handing the first-place Warriors their only loss in CCC action.

LC's Callie Stevens led all scorers with 21 points, including four three-pointers. Sitara Byrd recorded a 15-point, 12-rebound double-double.

Stevens hit a three to open the fourth quarter to give the Warriors a 10-point lead, 59-49. Bushnell answered with a 12-3 run to make it a one-point game, 62-61, with four and a half minutes to play but the Warriors went on to hold the Beacons scoreless the rest of the way. Â Â Â Â
Aspen Slifka recorded her second double-double of the season, finishing with 20 points and a career-high 12 rebounds.
Mandy Sisul tallied 12 points, hitting 4-of-9 from beyond the arc, while
Aly Mirabile and
Ayden Krupke added 10 points apiece.
Libby Mathis finished with nine points and 10 rebounds.

LC State shot 42.4% from the field, including 6-of-16 from beyond the arc and made 12-of-18 at the free throw line. Bushnell finished 40.7% from the floor, hitting 8-of-24 from deep, and made 5-of-8 free throws. Â
