EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell defense came out strong on Saturday night, holding Walla Walla to under 40 points in a 65-39 Cascade Collegiate Conference victory in the Morse Center.
The Bushnell (15-9, 11-7 CCC) defense held Walla Walla (7-16, 4-14) to two points in the first quarter and four points in the third. The Wolves finished 23.6% from the floor, 4-of-17 from three-point range and 9-of-11 at the free throw line. In the previous matchup between the sides in December, WWU scored 73 points and made 12 threes.
The Beacons, who led by as many as 34 points in the contest, had every player score at least one point.
Libby Mathis tallied 15 points, seven rebounds and three blocks.
Aspen Slifka finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds to record a double-double in back-to-back nights.
Ayden Krupke added 12 points to put three Beacons in double figures.
The Wolves were led by 10 points and 10 rebounds from Chariah Daniels.
Bushnell finished 45.5% from the field, including 6-of-17 from deep, and made 9-of-18 attempts at the free throw line. The Beacons held a 42-35 advantage in rebounds and turned the ball over just 10 times.

We are pumped to celebrate Aly and Aspen and everything they have given to our program for senior weekend next week."
