OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Bushnell University women's basketball team defeated the Evergreen State College, 55-47, on Saturday afternoon to earn their fifth-straight victory and 10
th win in Cascade Collegiate Conference action.

Bushnell (14-8, 10-6 CCC) moves into a tie for fourth in the conference standings with Eastern Oregon. Evergreen (6-12, 6-10) sits in a tie for seventh but is just one game ahead of Northwest, who is in ninth.

The Beacons shot 38.3% from the floor on the afternoon, including 3-of-13 from beyond the arc, and made 16-of-22 at the free throw line. The Geoducks finished 32.2% from the field, 27.3% (6-22) from three and were barely sent to the free throw line, making 3-of-5 attempts.

Bushnell outscored Evergreen in every quarter except for the last, entering the final frame with a 15-point lead, their largest of the game. Evergreen opened the fourth quarter on a 12-3 run to make it a six-point contest, 46-40, with five minutes to play. The Geoducks would get as close as five on two occasions, but the Beacons answered with baskets of their own and held Evergreen scoreless through the final two minutes.

Aspen Slifka and
Libby Mathis recorded 15 points apiece to lead all scorers with Mathis adding a game-high eight rebounds.
Ayden Krupke finished with 12 points, including 6-of-6 at the free throw line, while
Mandy Sisul posted eight points.

The Geoducks finished with a 37-35 edge in rebounding but managed just three second chance points off 14 offensive boards. Sydney Vanness led the team with 12 points and eight rebounds, while Jenna Glenzel recorded nine points.

Up next, Bushnell hosts No. 7 Lewis Clark State College on Friday at noon. The Warriors currently hold an 11-game winning streak with their last loss coming against the Beacons on Dec. 16.
