FOREST GROVE, Ore. – The Bushnell softball team kept the train rolling on Sunday afternoon, picking up two more wins as they close out the non-conference schedule with a 5-6 record.

Emily Cole picked up a win and a save in the circle.

GAME ONE: Bushnell 7, Pacific 5
Â
The Beacons collected seven hits in game one and after hold a 3-1 lead, blew the game wide open with a four-run fourth.
Faith Wayman kicked things off with an RBI double to bring home Steelman followed by an RBI single from
Hannah Tennant to bring home
Gracelyn Johnson. Bushnell added two more runs on a bases loaded walk to
Tierra Dumlao and a wild pitch.

Liz Hillier (2-2) started the game in the circle and got the win, pitching four innings of one-hit ball while striking out two and giving up just one unearned run.
Emma Fournier came on in relief and after two solid innings, got into a little trouble in seventh, including a bases-clearing triple.

Cole came in to pick up the final two outs, earning her first save of the season.

Tennant and
Violet Richardson each had two hits for the Beacons with Tennant earning two RBI.

GAME TWO: Bushnell 5, Pacific 1
Â
Cole (2-4) got the start in game two and had a phenomenal outing, scattering five singles and giving up just one run in the complete-game victory. The junior transfer struck out eight batters and didn't allow a single walk.

Bushnell took a 1-0 lead in the third inning when Wayman singled to bring home Johnson. The Boxers tied things up in the bottom of the fourth, before the Beacons scored four runs in the fifth to gain the decisive lead.

Violet Richardson's first career home run, a two-run blast to right center field.

Wayman, Ferreira, Richardson, and Johnson all had two hits for the Beacons as Richardson finished the day 4-for-6 and Wayman collected a total of three RBI. Â

Bushnell will take a weekend off before Cascade Collegiate Conference is scheduled to begin on March 1. First up for the Beacons will travel to face the University of British Columbia (0-2). It will be Bushnell's first trip to Canada since late February 2020, right before the Pandemic brought an end to the season.
