SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – The Bushnell softball team ran their winning streak to three games as they took two from Willamette University on Saturday in a rainy double-header.

The Beacons did it with their bats, collecting 17 hits, with their arms, three pitchers allowing just seven hits, and with their legs, collecting seven stolen bases as they picked up their first double-header sweep of the season. Â Â Â

GAME ONE: Bushnell 9, Willamette 1 (5 innings)

Bushnell busted open with three runs in the second and five in the third to roll to their first run-rule victory in two years.
Suzi Krstic went 3-for-3 and
Haleigh Wambolt batted 2-for-3 with the first RBI of the game to lead the way.
Â
Bushnell's flyin' Hawaiian's provided a spark for the Beacons as
Alyssa Ferreira had a two-rbi single in the second inning and
Tierra Dumlao hit a two-run double in the third. Ferreira added a stolen base and scored twice.

Emma Fournier (1-0) (pictured) made the most of her second start, allowing one earn run on four singles through four innings of work before
Emily Cole closed out the game striking out a pair of batters in the fifth.

GAME TWO: Bushnell 4, Willamette 2

Senior
Faith Wayman had a two-run single in the bottom of the fifth inning, breaking a 2-2 tie to send Bushnell to the victory in game two.

Bushnell took an early 1-0 lead on a
Hannah Tennant RBI single in the first, only to see the Bearcats tie the game in the third on an RBI ground-out and take the lead on a solo home run in the third, their only extra-base hit on the day.

The Beacons tied things up in the bottom of the third on a
Breanna Hilton RBI double, before Wayman sealed it in the fifth.
Â
Bushnell had another solid game in the circle as well as freshman
Violet Richardson got the start for her first collegiate pitching action, giving up just one earned run on three hits through four innings.
Emily Cole (1-4) came in for the final three innings, striking out five and didn't allow a hit for her first win with the Beacons.

Bushnell (3-6) will play their final non-conference games on Sunday, traveling to Forest Grove to take on Pacific University (2-2) at 2:00 pm. Â
