EUGENE, Ore. – An 84-point margin of victory, setting a new all-time record, gave the home crowd some excitement on Saturday evening as the Beacons played in the Morse Center for the first time this season and knocked off Portland Bible College, 124-42.
Â
The previous record of a 79-point win came eight years prior with a 116-37 throttling of Northwest Indian College. The Beacons also set a school record with 22 steals on the night, toppling the previous mark of 20, last occurring against Corban University back in 2018.
Â
The Beacons (3-1) dominated in every facet of the game, forcing 28 takeaways that led to a 41-1 advantage in points off turnovers. Bushnell out-rebounded PBC by 37, and had more offensive boards (25) than the Arrows had on either side of the ball which resulted in a 27-2 margin in second-chance scoring.
Â
The hometown heroes shot 57% in the game, hit 14 three-pointers, and held Portland Bible to 35% from the field.
Â
Bushnell went deep into the bench as every player earned at least five minutes on the court and the reserves accounted for 77 points. Eight different players scored in double-digits, led by
Christian Pitcher who played 17 minutes and scored 18 points with 12 rebounds off the bench.
Â
Cory Johnson shot 7-for-10 from the field and scored 17 while
Kaleb Burnett also contributed a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds in 13 minutes. His eight offensive boards were the eighth-most in school history and just two away from the team record.

Turner Livingston with 12, hitting 4-for-5 from three-point range,
Squeeky Johnson and
Jaden Graham with 11 apiece, along with
Luke Smith and
Isaiah Wallace who each dropped in ten.
Â
Cole Beardsley never found the net, but led Bushnell with five assists while adding seven boards. Graham added a team-high five steals while
Ashton Harvey blocked three shots to go with his eight points.
Â
The Arrows (0-4) were led by Trevor Vermillion, scoring 15 points and seven rebounds before fouling out. Jimmie Proctor added 13 points.

Head Coach
Eddie Alexander said, "We executed in all areas except the free-throw line tonight. We have some things to clean up, but we are in a good place to prepare for Hope International and Simpson next weekend with everyone back to healthy in the rotation."
Â
The Beacons stay home to prepare for the Dave Lipp Classic next weekend. Bushnell hosts Hope International at 6:00 pm next Friday and then face Simpson University at 3:00 pm on Saturday. Corban University will also be in town to face the same two teams on opposite days.
