THIS WEEK: It's a big week for the Beacons as they hit the road for top-ten opponent before returning home for a pair of CCC clashes.

LAST TIME OUT: Bushnell closed the first half of the Cascade Collegiate Conference on a high note, traveling to Washington and coming back with a pair of victories and sole possession of fourth-place in the CCC.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: Congratulations are in order for Hailey Heider and Bella Parque who were named the CCC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week respectively. Heider averaged 6.1 kills per set over the weekend, hitting .311. She posted a career-high 25 kills against Evergreen, the fourth-highest total in school history. Parque averaged 4.71 digs per set in the two victories to earn her third time in her career.

NAIA COACHES POLL: For the first time in two years, the Bushnell volleyball team is once again receiving votes in the NAIA national coaches poll, released on October 1. The Beacons have put together an impressive resume so far this season. Bushnell is 11-6 on the year and among their six losses are four to teams ranked in the NAIA's Top-8. The Beacons also have wins against The College of Idaho and Carroll, two teams that are also receiving votes, and they pushed undefeated No. 1 Northwestern to five sets earlier this season.

CONFERENCE OUTLOOK: The first half the CCC schedule is complete and a strong picture is emerging as teams will battle it out over the next month for a spot in the top-eight and a trip to the CCC tournament.

The upper-echelon of the CCC remains the same with No. 3 EOU, No. 5 Southern Oregon, and No. 8 Corban all sitting at 10-1 in CCC play, with a single loss against one of each other. Bushnell follows, alone in fourth-place at 8-3, with their only losses in conference coming against that trio.

The rest of the would-be playoff pictures is rounded out by LC State (7-5) in fifth and The College of Idaho (6-5) in sixth with Oregon Tech and Walla Walla tied for seventh at 5-7.

Bushnell is currently ranked seventh in the CCC on offense with a .182 attack percentage. They are also sixth defensively, holding opponents to a .158 hitting percentage. The Beacons are fourth in the CCC in Kills (12.84/s), third in assists (12.04/s) and second in service aces (2.03/s).

Amyah Semau continues to leads the Cascade individually in service aces with 36, averaging 0.55 per set.

CORBAN: The Warriors (14-2, 10-1 CCC), ranked No. 8 in the latest NAIA Coaches Poll, come into the weekend winners of four straight. Their only losses this season have been to Bellevue College in their season opener and to No. 3 Eastern Oregon.

Corban is ranked third in the CCC in hitting percentage (.205), but are the top school defensively, holding opponents to a .099 attack. Individually, Jadah Schmidke ranks second in the CCC with a .344 attacking percentage while Emma Bischoff ranks second in service aces with 0.53 per set.

Corban holds a 27-10 lead in the all-time series and has won five straight, including a three-set victory in Eugene earlier this season.

WARNER PACIFIC: The Knights (0-13, 0-11 CCC) are still looking for their first victory of the season, and have won just three sets this year. They did pick up a set against No. 3 Eastern Oregon back in late September.

WPU is 12th in the CCC in hitting (0.56) and 12th defensively (.262 opponent hitting). Their best point-scoring comes at the service line as they are ninth in the conference in aces with 1.52 per set. Individually, Kyle Reiling ranks ninth in the CCC in assists (5.00/set) and fourth in service aces (0.46).

Bushnell is 24-15 all-time against the Knights and have won 11 straight, dating back to 2019. Including a sweep earlier this season, Bushnell has only lost one set to WPU over the last ten meetings.

MULTNOMAH: The Lions (1-14, 1-10) have struggled this season with their only win thus far coming against Warner Pacific. They have not won a set since September 20.

The Lions rank 11th in the CCC on offense (.064) and defense (.215 against) and rank in the bottom-three in the CCC in all statistical categories. The lone bright spot has been senior libero Lauren Porter, averaging 4.27 digs per set which ranks seventh in the conference.

Bushnell holds a 28-1 record in the all-time series with the Lions. Bushnell won 3-1 in Portland earlier this season, giving up a set for the first time during their current 11-match winning streak.
