EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell women's basketball team came back from a 19-point deficit, taking the lead at the end of the third quarter, but were unable to hold on as the Evergreen State College took the victory in the Cascade Collegiate Conference contest, 64-57, on Friday night.

Head Coach
Chad Meadors, "We didn't get off to a good start and got into a hole right away. We dug ourselves out and had a great third quarter, but just couldn't sustain it. We didn't play well as far as handling pressure and turned the ball over too many times. "
Â
Evergreen (2-6, 2-4 CCC) carried a 42-27 advantage into the break, leading by as many as 19 points toward the end of the second period thanks to a 26-point second quarter. That lead quickly faded as the Geoducks were held to just three points in the third, giving Bushnell (7-5, 3-3) a 47-45 edge going into the final period.
Â
The Geoducks got back on track in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Beacons 19-10 in the frame to earn their second conference victory of the season. Bushnell turned the ball over a season-high 23 times.
Â
Jalyn Sackrider and Jenna Glenzel posted 17 points apiece to lead Evergreen. Sackrider added a team-high eight rebounds. Sydney Vanness recorded 14 points off the bench.
Â
Aspen Slifka reached another milestone, surpassing 1,500 career points with her 19-point performance tonight.
Libby Mathis posted a double-double, finishing with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Ayden Krupke tallied 11 points for the Beacons.
Â
"Aspen reached 1,500 career points tonight which is a great a milestone and we wish we would've been able to add a win to that," said Meadors. "We'll bounce back against a very offensive-minded team tomorrow. We are going to have to defend and find some answers."
