EUGENE, Ore. – A 22-7 advantage in shots, including six shots-on-goal, led to a 3-1 victory for Carroll College over the Bushnell Beacons on Friday in Cascade Collegiate Conference men's soccer action.
Â
All of the scoring came in the final 40 minutes, after the teams played through a scoreless first half. The Saints put across two strikes in quick succession in the 50th and 55th minutes which would be all they needed.
Â
The Beacons answered with one goal in the 59th minute as
Francisco Cayolla scored off a pass from
Omar Barajas, but Carroll pushed across an insurance strike in the 67th minute to hold back any comeback attempt by the home team.
Â
"We played with a lot of energy and intensity today," said head coach
Joao Ehlers, "but we struggled to create chances up front. We will now get some rest and start preparing for tomorrow."
Â
The Beacons (4-2-2, 0-2-1 CCC) turn around and take on the University of Providence (5-4, 3-2) on Saturday 12:30 pm.
