SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – The Bushnell softball team played their final home games of the 2023 season on Saturday, honoring their seniors during a ceremony between games three and four of their series with No. 8-ranked College of Idaho. The Yotes swept the day with a pair of 10-0 run-rule victories.

GAME ONE: College of Idaho 10, Bushnell 0 (Six Innings)

The College of Idaho collected 13 hits including three from Lexi Navarrete in the opener. After two scoreless innings, they put things away with a five-run third.

Katelyn Wilfert (16-3) threw a complete game and struck out six batters for the Yotes, as she held Bushnell to just four hits.

Hannah Tennant led the Beacons with two hits and
Liz Hillier (2-8) suffered the loss in a complete game effort in the circle.

GAME TWO: College of Idaho 10, Bushnell 0 (Six Innings)

The Yotes scored six runs in the top of the first inning, chasing starter
Leslie Reynaga (4-9)Â before she was able to record an out. Reynaga ended up giving up five earned runs on one hit while walking three.

Sam Silver came in and finished out the game, allowing five runs on eight hits while striking out three.
Â
Faith Wayman led Bushnell with a big day at the plate, going 3-for-3 to complete a four-hit afternoon.

SENIORS

Four seniors were honored during senior day festivities between games.
Â
Bryana Yoshida has been with the Beacons for two seasons after transferring from Otero Junior College. She has played in 61 games for the Beacons, making 48 starts. This season she has collected five doubles and has had three multi-hit games. She was named the team's Most Inspirational Player as a junior.

Sam Silver has been with the Beacons for three seasons, after transferring from Western Washington. She has played in 106 games, and made 69 pitching appearances. She finishes her career ranked in the top-five all-time in eight pitching categories. Silver was the 2022 Champion of Character Award winner for both Bushnell and the Cascade Conference, and went on to win the NAIA's Dr. Leroy Walker Champion of Character Award. She finished her undergraduate degree last year and won the Gardiepy-Peloquin Award as the top undergraduate Communication major. She is a three-time member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll and has earned multiple CCC and NAIA academic honors.

Krystal Akagi has been with the Beacons for four years, playing in 115 games and making 105 starts. Krystal has been a versatile member of the Bushnell team, seeing significant time in the outfield, at first and second base, and at shortstop. As a junior, Akagi was an All-Cascade Conference honorable mention selection and is a two-time winner of the team's Most Improved award. She is a three-time member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll and has earned multiple CCC and NAIA academic honors.

Leslie Reynaga has been with the Beacons for four years, making 48 appearances in the circle with multiple appearances in the infield and the batting lineup. Leslie ranks in the top-ten all-time for appearances. She is a three-time member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll and has earned multiple CCC and NAIA academic honors.

The Beacons (11-33, 7-20 CCC) were eliminated from the CCC post-season on Saturday. They will close out the year in Montana next weekend, traveling to face Carroll College for a four game series on Friday and Saturday. Â Â Â Â
