ASHLAND, Ore. –The Southern Oregon University softball team showed a little more of why they are ranked in the top-10 in the NAIA on Saturday, sweeping another double-header from Bushnell with a pair of run-rule victories.

GAME ONE: Southern Oregon 12, Bushnell 4 (5 Innings)

The Beacons jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, but couldn't hold on as they were plagued by another big inning for the Raiders. Trailing 4-2, SOU scored seven runs in the bottom of the third to take the lead for good before putting the game away with a walk-off RBI ground-out in the bottom of the fifth.

Bushnell scored four runs on four hits in the contest including a 2-for-2 day for
Suzi Krstic who had an RBI double in the second inning.

Jada Young (0-2) threw 2 1/3 innings for the Beacons, allowing four earned runs as the Bushnell defense committed three errors.

GAME TWO: Southern Oregon 11, Bushnell 2 (5 Innings)

Southern Oregon once again walked off the run-rule win, this time with a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth.
Â
The Beacons had another three errors in the game as SOU's final four runs were all unearned. Brianna Hilton (0-2) threw two innings, allowing four runs on five hits to take the loss.
Sam Silver closed out the final two innings for the Beacons and allowed no earned runs on just one hit.

Madison Steelman had one of Bushnell's four hits, posting a solo home run in the top of the first inning, her third of the season.

The Beacons (3-11, 0-3 CCC) return home next weekend to take on the University of British Columbia (5-4). The four-game series is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 11:00 am on both days. Â
