Reynaga Throws One-Hitter in Exhibition Win

EUGENE, Ore. – Senior Leslie Reynaga threw a one-hitter and struck out nine batters as the Beacons salvaged a split on Saturday in their exhibition double-header with Pacific University.

GAME ONE: Pacific 6, Bushnell 4

The visiting Boxers posted four runs in the top of the first inning and Bushnell was never able to recover in the morning loss.

The Beacons collected nine hits in the game, including two apiece from Erika Allen and Krystal Akagi. Sam Silver had a triple, and struck out two batters in a complete game effort.

GAME TWO: Bushnell 8, Pacific 1

Bushnell rebounded in a big way in the afternoon contest, collecting nine more hits the blowout victory. Seven different players earned hits and six players scored in the contest as Madison Steelman and Faith Wayman posted two-hit days.

Reynaga threw an absolute gem as a fourth-inning double was the only blemish keeping her from a no-hitter. She struck out nine batters and allowed six walks in the win.
