Libby Mathis posted her first double-double of the year to lead the Bushnell University women's basketball team in a 66-59 Cascade Collegiate Conference victory over host Multnomah on Saturday.

Trailing 47-43 entering the final quarter, the Beacons (5-3, 1-1 CCC) outscored the Lions (2-4, 0-3), 23-12, in the period to take home their first conference victory of the year. Mathis sparked the fourth-quarter scoring with an 8-0 run, making four consecutive layups to give Bushnell a 54-53 lead with just over five minutes to go.

Mathis added two more baskets down the stretch, bringing her total to 12 points in the quarter, the same amount the Lions scored in the period. She finished with a season-high 22 points on 10-for-14 shooting, adding 12 rebounds on the night.

Aspen Slifka had another consistent outing, recording 21 points on 8-for-12 shooting and went a perfect 5-of-5 at the free throw line.
Aly Mirabile added six points, six rebounds and nine assists.

As a team, Bushnell shot 49.0% (25-51) from the field and held Multnomah to 33.3% (20-60). The Beacons finished with a 38-32 advantage in rebounds but lost the turnover battle, 15-11, leading to 21 points off turnovers for the Lions.

For Multnomah, Savannah Huerta led all scorers with 26 points. Gracie Browning tallied 14 points and seven rebounds, and Kailyn Allison added 10 points. Â
