Beacons Blowout Evergreen For Biggest CCC Win Ever

EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell men's basketball team had seven players in double-figures on Saturday night as they rolled to a 111-61 victory over The Evergreen State College in Cascade Collegiate Conference action.
 
The Beacons (10-12, 8-8 CCC) jump to .500 in the CCC with the win as they sit alone in sixth-place in the CCC. The 50-point victory was the largest ever for Bushnell against a Cascade Collegiate Conference opponent.
 
Head Coach Eddie Alexander said, "This was an excellent team victory tonight. Everyone played great defense and we were able to get contributions from a lot of players."
 
Bushnell finished the game shooting 58% from the field. A 55-29 rebounding margin included 15 offensive boards that translated to a 22-6 advantage in second-chance points.
 
Jon Willis and Stevie SchlabachStevie Schlabach (pictured, left, with Jon Willis) had his second historic night in row as he shot 10-for-11 from the field, scored 21 points and moved into third-place on Bushnell's career scoring list. He now has 1458 points in his career, a solid distance behind Hall of Famer Jon Willis, who ranks second all time with over 2000.
 
Also highlighting the big offensive effort for the Beacons was Alexis Angeles with 15 points and Luke Smith with 14. Kaden Sand and Cory Johnson (pictured) each scored 13 with Johnson adding a team-high 11 rebounds for the double-double. Trevon Richmond scored ten points and led the team with four assists while Isaac Girley came off the bench to score 11. Bushnell finished with a 47-21 margin in points off the bench.
 
"I am really proud of Stevie for accomplishing a goal he had for himself," added Alexander. "It was also an excellent job by Cory Johnson tonight to get his first collegiate double-double."
 
Evergreen (1-17, 1-14 CCC) was led by Tyler Williford with 14 points to go with a game-high 14 rebounds. Jourdan Joseph added 12 points while Jayden Upshaw led all players with five assists.
 
Bushnell will hit the road for the next two weekends, beginning with a clash against Lewis-Clark State on Friday at 7:30 pm.
