Hanson Lifts Beacons Over Lions

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Haley Hanson scored a career-high 22 points, making 6-of-8 from beyond the arc, to lead the Bushnell University women's basketball team to a 73-54 victory over Multnomah University in Saturday's Cascade Collegiate Conference contest.

The Beacons led 39-26 coming out of the half, extending their advantage to 16 points three minutes into the third, before a 14-3 run by the Lions cut the lead to five. Bushnell answered with a pair of layups from Olivia Bailon and a three from Hanson in a momentum shifting run that put the Beacons up 54-40 to end the quarter.

Bushnell maintained a double-digit advantage the rest of the way, leading by as many as 22 after another Hanson three followed by a Bella Pedrojetti layup with under two and a half minutes on the clock.

Hanson's career-high night included an 8-for-11 mark from the field. Pedrojetti finished with 11 points, while Kalina Rojas added nine points and nine rebounds. Aspen Slifka posted eight points, five rebounds and four steals. Bailon also finished with eight points for the Beacons.

As a team, Bushnell shot 39.4% from the floor, including 10-of-28 from three-point range. The Beacons went 11-for-14 at the free throw line.

Multnomah shot 34.4% from the field, making 3-of-12 from beyond the arc and 9-of-12 at the free throw line. The Lions were led by Elise Graham, who finished with 12 points and seven rebounds. Dalila Rincan and Shaila Mays added 10 points each, while Alaygza Portis recorded nine points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
