EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell men's basketball put up a solid fight on Friday night, but in the end the No. 1 ranked College of Idaho claimed their 15th straight victory in an 81-65 Cascade Collegiate Conference battle. Â

The Beacons (6-10, 4-6 CCC) out-shot the Yotes 51% to 47% and held a 38.5%-to-34.6% margin in three-point shooting, but 18 turnovers led to 22 C of I point that proved to be a difference maker.

Trailing by just two points at half-time, the Beacons saw the deficit grow to 15 as the College of Idaho continued to apply pressure on both sides of the floor. Down 61-46 with 11:25 remaining, Bushnell would make one last push with a 10-2 run to climb within seven points with seven minutes remaining. They home team was outscored 18-9 the rest of the way, however, as the top ranked team in the NAIA remained undefeated in CCC action.

Eddie Alexander said, "We battled and the game was much closer than the final score tonight. I am proud of our guys but we missed some free throws we normally make and their pressure forced us into too many turnovers."

The Yotes (15-1, 10-0) had five players in double-figures, led by 17 points from Drew Wyman who had five three-pointers and matched the Bushnell team total from distance. Charles Elzie and Straton Rogers added 13 points apiece while Jake O'Neil added 12 points and ten rebounds. Johnny Radford, the team's leading scorer on the season, was held scoreless in the first half but finished with 11.

Bushnell was led by
Spencer Hoffman who secured a double-double with a game-high 19 points along with ten rebounds.
Stevie Schlabach posted 15 points while
Cory Johnson came off the bench to hit four three-pointers, scoring 14. "Cory played great off the bench," said Alexander, "and we hope to continue getting other guys more involved offensively. It has been a struggle at times but we will get there."

The Beacons return to action on Saturday at 5:00 pm, taking on Eastern Oregon (11-5, 8-2). The Mounties are tied with Corban University for second-place in the CCC after falling to the Warriors on Friday night. Â
