GLENEDEN BEACH, Ore. – The Bushnell University men's golf team got out to a three-stroke lead after the first round of their season opening tournament with three Beacons finishing the day among the top-five at the Coastal Collegiate Classic, hosted by Corban University.
 
Caden Stubbs is tied for first place with LC State's Jorgen Lie Viken after both shot a 73. Jackson Muramoto is just one stroke behind, recording a 74 in round one. Elliot Wallace kicked off his freshman campaign with a 75, putting him in a tie for fourth on the leaderboard.
 
Benjamin Lovrod shot an 82 to put him in a tie for 18^th, while Jackson Findlay and Hayden Lazeo each posted an 87 to sit in a tie for 26^th place.
 
The final scores on the men's side after day one are: (1) Bushnell 304, (2) LC State 307, (3) Multnomah 310, (4) Oregon Tech 324, (5) Southern Oregon 324, (6) Corban 334.
 
The six-team, three-round tournament will continue with the second round on Monday.
