SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Bushnell University held a 1-0 advantage at the break, but Carroll College pulled away with three goals in the second half to defeat the Beacons at the Les Schwab Sports Park in Saturday's Cascade Collegiate Conference women's soccer contest.

Bushnell (0-6, 0-1 CCC) led for 50 minutes before Carroll (4-1-3, 1-0-1) scored twice within a span of less than a minute. The Saints used that momentum to add one more in the 68
th minute of play.

Benny Flores said, "I am proud of how hard the ladies played today. We played 80 minutes of quality soccer but we can't have the mental lapses. Our conference is too good for that but I am excited about the direction of this team."

Abbie Chambers scored her first collegiate goal to get the Beacons on the scoreboard. Chambers collected a pass from
Sydney Petersen, beat her defender, and sent a shot past the goalkeeper's reach.

Emily Funseth recorded the equalizer for the Saints and Blair Stapleton scored the next two. Stapleton led the Carroll offense with seven shots, three on frame. The Saints finished with an 18-9 lead in shots, 8-4 on goal.

The match saw a total of 20 corner kicks with the Saints taking 14 of them.

Up next, Bushnell hosts the College of Idaho (Sept. 23) and Eastern Oregon (Sept. 24) at the Les Schwab Sports Park.
