CALDWELL, Idaho –
Jackson Muramoto took home fifth place at the College of Idaho Invitational, the first of three regular season Cascade Collegiate Conference tournaments, to lead the Bushnell University men's golf team to a fifth-place finish at the TimberStone Golf Course.

Muramoto (73-71-73—217) finished fourth among conference opponents and has now placed within the top-10 in consecutive tournaments to open the season. In the CCC standings, the Beacons finished fourth as NCAA Division II Northwest Nazarene was also competing at the tournament.

Grayson Giboney of NNU won the event with a score of 71-70-71—212 (-4). Mackenzie Bickell (75-71-68—214) of No. 8 British Columbia was the top finisher in the CCC, followed by Jackson Holman (71-76-68—215) of Multnomah and Hudson Lafayette (71-70-75—216) of UBC. Muramoto finished one stroke behind Lafayette.

Bushnell posted the ninth-best three-round tournament score in school history, finishing with a score of 298-300-299—897 (+33). The Beacons were just one stroke behind the College of Idaho, who posted a 290 as a team on Tuesday, the fourth-best round of the tournament.

Larry Watts said, "It was a great couple of days in Idaho. The course was in fantastic shape and we had some solid rounds of golf. Jackson putted well and led the team with a fourth-place finish and Elliot had the best round of the week for the team, shooting a 2-under 70."

Elliot Wallace (73-79-70—222) impressed in his first-ever conference event, shooting 2-under 70 on the day to finish in a tie for ninth among CCC opponents. "It felt good to shoot under par for the first time in college," said Wallace. "The putts weren't falling early but I stuck with it. I'm very excited for the Multnomah Invite."

Caden Stubbs (76-71-76—224) finished in a tie for 14
th on the conference leaderboard, while
Benjamin Lovrod (76-79-80--235) tied for 27
th in the CCC.

The final CCC standings were: (1) British Columbia 868, (2) LC State 886, (3) College of Idaho 896, (4) Bushnell 897, (5) Multnomah 908, (6) Oregon Tech 913, (7) Southern Oregon 306, (8) Walla Walla 950, (9) Corban 965.
