The Bruins (1-0) controlled the match from start to finish, holding a 31-9 advantage in shots on the game. The Beacons (0-3) were led by
Emily Puita's three shots, two on frame.
Dejah Wallot added two shots on the match.
Phillips, who also assisted on the first goal of the day, recorded 12 shots, scoring on five of her six attempts on goal. Becca Kozak finished with three assists, while Madison Fuller assisted on two of the Bruins' goals.
Up next, Bushnell returns to Civic Park to host San Diego Christian College (Calif.) on Sept. 9 at 3 p.m.
