The Preseason rolls along for the Beacons this week with volleyball and both soccer teams in action.

The Beacons (0-1) dropped their season opener to Simpson on Friday, taking a 2-0 loss after giving up a pair of goals in the final 11 minutes. The team looks to rebound in their road trip to Pacific Union College on Wednesday, Aug. 24.
This will be the second-ever matchup between the sides. The Beacons hosted the Pioneers last season and came away with a 2-1 victory.
Emily Puita recorded the first goal of her collegiate career in the win, scoring in just the second minute of play.
Dejah Wallot sent in the match winner for Bushnell.
Pacific Union will be playing in its first game of the season. The Pioneers went 6-10-1 last year and finished fourth in the California Pacific Conference North Division at 3-4-1.
Following the mid-week match, Bushnell returns home to host Willamette University in an exhibition game on Sunday, Aug. 28 at Civic Park. Fans are encouraged to bring canned food to the contest to support FOOD For Lane County.

Bushnell (1-1) started the season on the road last week with a split, defeating Pacific Union, 2-1, before falling to William Jessup, 2-0. The win over Pacific Union featured goals from
Isaiah Robles and
Caleb Burke, and gave the Beacons their first opening-day win in six seasons.
This week the team will play just one match, facing off against Park University from Gilbert, Arizona in a non-conference NAIA tilt. It will be the first meeting ever between the schools as the Buccaneers are in their fourth year as a varsity program.
Park (0-1) went 7-8-1 last season and were third in the California Pacific Conference Southwest Division at 4-4. They played their season opener on Monday, falling to (RV) Arizona Christian, 2-1.

Bushnell (1-3) opened up their season last weekend with the most difficult starting slate in school history, facing off against three NAIA Top-25 Teams and one team receiving votes. They came out with a big win against No. 10 Providence before falling to No. 13 Montana Tech, No. 2 Jamestown, and (RV) Cornerstone.
This week they look to rebound as they head to the William Jessup Invitational in Rocklin, California. The Beacons will face off against the exact same four opponents as they did last year in this event, when they went 4-0 to start the season.
Bushnell has seen plenty of success against these opponents. They are 3-0 all-time against Menlo, 2-2 against UC Merced, 6-2 against William Jessup, and 20-1 against Simpson.
