SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Bushnell University came away with a 4-3 walk-off win in the bottom of the 12
th in Saturday's opener, pushing through a pair of rain delays, but the University of British Columbia took the series finale 5-2 to split the four-game Cascade Collegiate Conference baseball series.

Bushnell moves to 11-33 overall and 9-11 in CCC action with just Lewis-Clark State left in conference play. British Columbia is now 20-21 overall and 7-8 in conference action with Corban and Oregon Tech coming up.

The Beacons first and only senior,
Abbott Haffar, was recognized prior to game one in a Senior Day Ceremony. Head Coach

Game One: Bushnell 4, British Columbia 3 (12 innings)

The Beacons and Thunderbirds played through the on-and-off rain and hail in game one, finishing the contest after four and a half hours of play. It was the third consecutive game in the series that came down to the final inning.

The sides were tied at 1-1 entering the ninth before Ty Penner hit a two-run double for the Thunderbirds to put them on top 3-1.

The bottom of the ninth was interrupted by the second rain delay but the Beacons came out of the pause with a pair of runs of their own to send the game to extras.
Jacob Stoner singled down the left field line to move
Dylan Carson, who had reached on a walk prior to the delay, into scoring position. The pair advanced on a wild pitch and Carson crossed home on a double play. Stoner scored on a two-out wild pitch to keep Bushnell's hopes alive.

Daniel Furman (1-2) came in to pitch three scoreless innings of relief for the Beacons and did not allow a hit, facing just nine batters as the Thunderbird who walked was caught stealing. Bushnell opened the bottom of the 12
th with three straight walks to load the bases. Carson made contact in the following at-bat, sending a well-placed grounder to second base to bring home
Dylan Martin for the walk off.

Stoner finished 3-for-4 at the plate to lead a Bushnell offense that finished with eight hits. The Beacons drew nine walks on the game.
Kai Keamo was the starter for the Beacons, allowing just one run on two hits in five innings of work.

Game Two: British Columbia 5, Bushnell 2

The Thunderbirds never trailed in the series finale, grabbing a 3-0 lead after two innings.

Carson drove in the first run for the Beacons with a single in the bottom of the fourth.
Brandon Reed brought home
Peyton Hino with a single in the bottom of the eighth to make it a 3-2 deficit but UBC starting pitcher Brett Corbeth answered with a two-run homer in the top of the ninth to seal the 5-2 finale.

Corbeth (1-5) contributed heavily for the Thunderbirds, finishing 2-for-4 with three RBIs. He pitched seven innings as the Thunderbird starter, allowing two runs on four hits with six strikeouts. Vicarte Domingo recorded his fifth save of the season after not allowing a hit in final frame.

Jahshua Yacapin took the loss on the mound as the starter for the Beacons, allowing two earned runs on five hits through six innings. He struck out five in the outing.

Bushnell has two home non-conference games on the slate before concluding regular season play at LC State at the end of the month. The Beacons face Western Oregon University on April 19 before a rematch with Linfield University on April 26.
