Weather Cancels Day Two of Corban Spring Invite

SALEM, Ore. – Due to inclement weather, the second day of the Corban Spring Invite at the Creekside Golf Club was canceled.

As a result, scores reverted to yesterday's round(s) and the holes that were played today before the cancellation do not count.

Director of Golf Larry Watts said, "Due to flooded greens, the second day had to be cancelled. Some of the teams have a long drive over elevation and we still had two hours of golf to finish the final round. It was the right decision and I hope everyone's travels go well."

For the Beacon men, Andrew Webb led the way with a seventh-place finish, shooting a 76-74—150 through 36 holes of play. "Andrew was surging on the leaderboard when the tournament officials cancelled play after a 50-minute suspension," said Watts.

Jackson Muramoto recorded a 78-75—153 to finish in a tie for 11th. Benjamin Lovrod (79-77—156) tied for 19th, Cole Radbourne (79-83—162) tied for 27th and Caden Stubbs (80-86—166) tied for 31st.

No. 12 Lewis-Clark State won the tournament, posting a 591 (+15) as team through two rounds of play. The Warriors finished 15 strokes ahead of Oregon Tech (606) and No. 6 British Columbia, who tied for second place. Bushnell (621) tied for fourth with Multnomah (621). The College of Idaho (641), Walla Walla (648) and Corban (657) made up the remaining three spots.

Jørgen Viken of LC State earned medalist honors, posting a 74-70—144 (E).

On the women's side, third-ranked British Columbia (300) won the tournament with a 23-stroke margin. The Thunderbirds swept the top-five individual spots in the standings. Elizabeth Labbe (74) of UBC earned medalist honors for UBC.

Northwest Nazarene (323), a NCAA Division II school, placed second, followed by No. 23 Oregon Tech (329) just six strokes back. (RV) Lewis-Clark State (338) and Corban (338) tied for fourth, while Bushnell (404) finished sixth. Walla Walla and the College of Idaho were unable to field a complete team.

The Beacons were led by Cassidy Krauss, who shot a 91 in the first round to place her at 28th on the leaderboard. Fernanda Gardea tied for 29th, finishing just a stroke behind Krauss with a 92. Analise Aubin (94) tied for 31st, while Melody Garcia (127) placed 39th.

"Our teams competed hard and enjoyed the course," said Watts. "The course was in great shape and I understand why it held the national championships a few years ago. We are looking forward to the Conference Championship later this month."

Bushnell concludes the regular season with the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship, taking place on April 25-26 at the Eagle Point Golf Club.
