KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech completed a pair of come-from-behind victories on Sunday, completing a four-game sweep of Bushnell in Cascade Collegiate Conference action with 6-1 and 8-4 wins.
Â
The Beacons (9-30, 7-9 CCC) took an early lead in the opener on a
Kyle Casperson RBI single in the first inning, but the visitors were held to just one hit the rest of the way as three OIT pitchers combined on the two-hitter.
Â
In game two,
Jahshua Yacapin (pictured) pitched a gem for seven innings. The freshman held Tech to five hits and struck out seven batters as he allowed just two earned runs with the Beacons establishing a 4-3 lead.
Â
OIT, however, posted a five-run eighth inning on reliever
Colby Knutzen (1-1) to claim the victory.
Â
The Owls improved to 29-14, including an 8-4 mark in the Cascade Collegiate Conference to establish a three-game lead over the Beacons for third-place.
Â
Bushnell is also a half-game behind fourth-place University of British Columbia, who will pay their first-ever visit to Hamlin Sports Park next weekend. The teams are scheduled to play four games, beginning at 2:00 pm on Friday and 11:00 am on Saturday.
