VANCOUVER, B.C. – The University of British Columbia closed out a weekend sweep on Saturday, knocking off the Bushnell Baseball team, 9-2.
Â
As was the case on Friday, with Bushnell was only able to bring a partial roster across the border, the teams played just one game instead of the regularly-scheduled double-header. UBC is credited with a forfeit victory for the second game.Â
Â
On Saturday, UBC (10-10) spread out the scoring across five different innings as they pounded out 15 hits. The Beacons (2-18) collected five hits, including two from
Reece Carganilla.
Â
Abbott Haffar (0-4) pitched into the fifth inning and struck out four batters. He allowed six runs on 11 hits.
Â
Bushnell will be back in action on Tuesday, traveling to face Linfield in a single game at 4:00 pm.
