EUGENE, Ore. –
Will Hander resigned as the Beacon men's soccer coach on Thursday, as he has accepted a head coach position within the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
Â
Hander, the fourth-winningest coach in program history, returned to Bushnell this past fall after a one-year hiatus. He was also announced as the head coach at the University of Providence in Great Falls, Montana on Thursday.
Â
Coach Hander said, "I can't thank Corey enough for the opportunity to come back to Bushnell. He has been very supportive of everything I have tried to do with the program and I greatly appreciate his leadership and willingness to let me experience on different ideas with the program."
Â
Athletic Director
Corey Anderson said, "I appreciate Coach Hander's time and effort in coming in to lead our men's soccer program for a second time. While Will is leaving our program having laid a solid foundation in which to continue to build upon, he is also leaving us with a feeling of 'unfinished business' within our team knowing that we still have goals and accomplishments yet to achieve. This is something that our current group of young men will hunger for while coming together this spring with a focus on their future. We wish Will good luck on his immediate future and look forward to great competition with him on the pitch."
Â
Hander added, 'I will most importantly miss our players. They believed in our culture and style of play from day one. These guys have a lot of potential and I hope they see that and believe in themselves and remember to 'never ring the bell'.
